Julie Mitchell

Owner

Started at Hair Company & Spa: 2002

Salon Owner since 2005

Julie loves helping people look and feel great. After 20 years of being behind the chair she has decided to step back to focus on her team and the company vision. Continuing education is very important to stay up to date on technology, trends, and techniques and she will continue doing this to inspire and challenge her talents. This is not only a great way to be able to serve the guests in the salon but to also be a great leader and keep her team at Hair Company & Spa inspired. Julie is always looking to expand her vision and works to elevate the way the world sees the beauty industry. In 2017 her and Cortney Leduc opened The Salon Professional Academy in Maplewood MN. She shares her time between the salon and the school where she strives to help create future leaders in the industry. Robin

Level 7. Robin is dedicated to making every guest feel truly special, offering personalized attention to ensure each person leaves feeling confident and heard. Her creative approach and keen eye for detail allow her to craft the perfect style for every individual. As a firm believer in the power of continuing education, Robin stays ahead of trends to provide her clients with cutting-edge techniques and services in this ever-evolving industry. She specializes in dimensional color, using her expertise to create stunning, multi-tonal looks.

Cortney Leduc

Cosmetologist

Started at Hair Company & Spa: March 2008

Level 7. Cortney loves thinking outside of the box & being creative with color & how it flows with every haircut. She works well with the placement of a few different types of hair extensions and also specializes in Brazilian Blowouts. Her specialty is getting to know the guest sitting in her right way feeling what the guest is looking for. She was able to go to New York City for the Redken Exchange Color Course to further her practical & theory knowledge in the color line & back to New York City to sharpen her cutting skills. Venturing on in the learning department, Cortney finally made it to one of Redken’s biggest educational show the Redken Symposium in Las Vegas! Cortney continues to strive by expanding her education in all departments of her career. Outside of work Cortney has taken on the role of being a mom of 2 beautiful girls & is appreciating every minute of it. She also enjoys being on the lake, a beach, playing many sports, and just simply hanging out with friends & family. Cortney recently took on another adventure in her life with her boss/friend Julie Mitchell, they decided in 2016 to join a school franchise "The Salon Professional Academy" and open their own cosmetology school in Maplewood, MN in October 2017. Cortney's plan is to still work behind the chair one day a week but able to fill her other dream and be a part of the cosmetology school helping others make their dreams come true.

Level 4. Dana has been a Licensed Esthetician since 2011 and specializes in personalized skincare treatments that deliver long-term results. Her expertise includes customized facials, chemical peels, dermaplaning, microneedling, full-body waxing, and lash and brow tinting. Dana is passionate about enhancing her clients’ skincare journeys, continually refining her skills through advanced courses.

When she’s not pampering guests at Hair Company & Spa, Dana serves as an Esthetician Instructor at The Salon Professional Academy, where she inspires and mentors the next generation of beauty professionals.

Level 4. Gina has been a cosmetologist since 2006. For most of her career, she has been working in the Twin Cities. We were happy to have her join our team in January 2020. Gina loves educating and making personal connections with her guests. She believes "when you look good you feel good and when you feel good you do good." Gina is certified Level 1 in Diva Curl for all your curly hair ladies, she is also certified with EasiHair Pro Hair Extensions. And aside from that, she specializes in grey coverage and dimensional colors.

Outside work, Gina enjoys the outdoors. Being in a boat with family and friends is her happy place.

Taylor is also Brazilian Blowout and eyelash extension certified. She loves to fit her guests with natural, beautiful, and full lashes. Taylor has always been artistic and is drawn to the creative nature of the industry. She loves to help her clients achieve their hair dreams and feel beautiful while doing so. Sara graduated from The Salon Professional Academy in October 2022, fulfilling her lifelong dream of becoming a hairstylist after being a stay-at-home mom for eight years. She is passionate about helping clients feel confident and achieve their hair goals. Sara loved her experience at TSPA Maplewood so much that she returned as the full-time Admissions Recruiter. Though she now focuses on her role at the academy, Sara continues to service guests by appointment only.

Outside of work, Sara enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, crafting, reading, and indulging in her love for Harry Styles..

Shondra Pepin

Shondra has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2003. She has worked in many different environments throughout her career but finds being in a spa setting is both relaxing and therapeutic at the same time.

She specializes in Integrative massage customizing each treatment using a combination of Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Trigger Point modalities. She also is experienced with Hot stones and Cupping methods.

Shondra is passionate about helping people melt the tension and stress of the day away and help relieve chronic muscle pain.

Within the framework of Hair Company & Spa, Jessie holds in high regard the meaningful connections cultivated with both our valued patrons and dedicated team members. Her gratification stems from witnessing the transformative experiences and contagious enthusiasm of our clientele.

Beyond her professional commitments, Jessie finds fulfillment in familial bonds and recreational pursuits such as camping, travel, shopping, swimming, volunteerism, and fishing. When not contributing her expertise to the salon, she dedicates herself to the nurturing care of her cherished family unit, comprising 5 children, 2 canine companions, 2 feline friends, all while gracefully embracing her role as a devoted wife.
